Additionally please take a look at the different customization options you can get for your sword, the special hamon, menuki, habaki and seppa , fuchi and kashira , saya and the special colour options for your tsuka in cotton, leather and silk - and the sageo . All those options are offered for an additional charge, please ask me for the prices. The delivery time for a customized sword depends on the customization itself and could be 4 up to 6 months.

Within the EU the shipping of the iaito is for free, please ask me for the individual shipping costs to your country.

The length of the blade is measured like the Japanese system "Shaku/Sun/Bu", it’s a straight line from the tip of the kissaki to the munemachi (where the habaki fits into the back of the blade, about 2 cm - 2,5 cm in front of the tsuba.

You can use the following chart for a general idea of the needed length, but it would be better if you could test some swords of your training partners to find out the correct length or you can test it with a bokutoh by drawing it just like a iaito and checking where your maximum draw length is.

All iaito that are offered on this site are suitable for the practice of iaido. Although they look like real Japanese swords, they are made from a cast aluminium-zinc alloy, have a blunt edge, cannot be sharpened and are not suitable for any type of contact or cutting practice. All swords come with wooden handle covered with real ray skin, the blade has a bo-hi, the fittings are of good quality and well assembled, so these iaito are also suited for display purposes.

I’m ordering all swords directly in Japan, the shipping to you always will be from Germany to your country. So within the EU you won’t have any additional customs clearance, VAT is already included in my prices. If you come from outside of the EU you will be responsible for the customs clearance in your own country.

How to order and how to pay:
You can order by email or fax, I understand English and mostly French, too. After I received your order I'll send you an order confirmation as a PDF file with all details of your order. After you checked it and all is ok, an advance payment of 50% of the order value is due, then I’ll order the sword in Japan. You can pay by using your credit card (VISA, American Express or Master Card), Paypal or by money transfer to my bank account using IBAN and BIC. After the sword arrived here in Germany and I made the final check of the customization and quality I’ll send you a note and the rest of the payment is due. After it arrived I’ll send the sword secured to you by DHL International. Within Europe it usually will arrive within 7 to 10 days.
